1) Comedy
I have written comedy before and thought writing another comedy could be
beneficial to me. I looked at the film: Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging as an example of the story that I could tell. It was released in cinemas in July 2008. The story focuses on 14 year old Georgia, who is trying to organise her 15th birthday party whilst trying to get herself a boyfriend and also keep her parents happy, who are slowly drifting apart.The story that I briefly came up with was similar to that told in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, but told from a male perspective. My story involved 16 year old Archie, who on his first day of College, who makes new friends and soon finds himself falling for Chelsea, a girl in his form. After they date, a new kid turns up and threatens Archie's position as Chelsea's boyfriend and soon finds himself breaking up with her. Archie desperately tries to win her back.
I thought this would be a welcome change of genre for me to tackle, but after getting the main story points written down, I couldn't develop the story any further, and so decided to leave it.
2) Horror
Horror was another genre that I would like to have tackled with this project.
